Painted en plein air during the Plein Air Retreat in 2018 at Midway, Utah. There was a fire near our painting locations, which really affected how the sky colors looked. It didn't help that the winds were strong too that day, so it was quite the challenge painting this piece with high winds and smoke in the air. I eventually had to finish it up in the studio.
